DIAMOND HAS DATES!!!!!!!!!!
OK. Diamond UK has finally come up with some (understandably) tentative dates. We already had 11th May as the date for the delivery of the product that was intended for release back on March 25th. They are now suggesting 20th May as the date for the resumption of regular, weekly deliveries.
So - if all goes according to plan, we can begin to get back to normal sometime soon. I have no idea if the shop will be able to be open by then - we are dependent on the Everyman for that, and let's be honest, it's going to be a while before cinemas reopen.
But if we're getting new comics, we'll make sure we get them to you. There is, at long last, a light at the end of the tunnel.
DAN SLOTT TO LEAVE IRON MAN
It only seems like five minutes that Slott took over writing duties on the main Iron Man book with the launch of Tony Stark: Iron Man back in June 2018. His run has followed the resurrection of Tony Stark , his catastrophic fall and the rise of his lost brother Arno who took over the mantle of Iron Man at the start of 2020 - paying off a story about "The Iron Man of 2020" that initially ran in the early eighties. To my mind they could've done with redesigning Arno's suit, which might have looked futuristic in 1984, but now looks like something designed in 1984 - but looking beyond that it's been a cracking arc.
Slott leaves the title with the conclusion of this arc - thanks for the ride Dan, it's been a blast!
WATCH WILLO THE WISP
Serious nostalgia for anyone in their forties. The adventures of the creatures who live in Doyley Woods - including the kind but insecure fairy Mavis Cruet, the rather dense "Moog", Arthur the cynical caterpillar, the villain Evil Edna - a wicked witch shaped like a TV and the eponymous Willo, the sprite who narrates the adventures.
Voiced entirely by the brilliant Kenneth Williams the series was a hit with children and adults, sitting as it did between the end of children's early evening TV and the Six O'Clock News on BBC One.
